Suck suck suck went my wallet

So poor Madeline has been run ragged this summer with me doing two back to back multi-week events up in SF.  120 mile round trips 2-3 times per week for 4ish months... well... On the way home Saturday night, she was more sluggish on the shifting than usual, and she's been idling really slow lately, so I figured she deserved a tune-up. She's not a young coupe any more at 226,000 miles, you know.  (We'll be having a party at 250,000)

I'm supposed to go visit the 'rents on Wednesday, and normally I'd have the job done up there, but with 250 miles between Madeline and the hometown family mechanic, I don't want to chance her pooping out on the way.  So I took her down to the neighborhood Precision Auto Care because they do consistently good work, and they could take her this morning.  Tune-up and oil change generally runs about $250, that's to be expected.

Post drop off phone call however has revealed a leaky oil gasket (which I sorta knew about), and worn drive belts.  Dropping the oil pan to replace the gasket and then replacing the gaskets around the spark plugs, and the belts and everything else is going to bring the doctor's bill upwards of $550.

Can you see the joy in my eyes?  No really.  Look harder.

But hey, she's worth it. Especially if she keeps running for another 200,000 miles.

It does, however, necessitate me picking up EVERY shift I can at the restaurant between now and... um... FOREVER.

Poorer and poorer...
