...to where I'm goin'.
Tuesday's sailing outing was awesome. The Bay was almost "This ain't San Francisco" calm during our cruise as passengers. We were under engine power for most of the first three hours, even on the outside of the Golden Gate in the ocean. It was WEIRD. We caught some wind during the last hour though, and had a nice sail around Alcatraz (no, we didn't stop to pick up hitchhikers). When we got back to dock, the Cap'n knew that live_on_stage was a wee bit disappointed not to get to really work the legendary San Francisco Bay Winds, so he invited her back to crew his afternoon tour, and I got to go along to take pictures for them. Fair trade, I think!
So we went out for another four hours with a group of executives from a Portland, OR software firm. Amy helped run the ship, and I took about 350 pictures for the nice people.
When all was said and done and we were back at the dock again, Captain Kirk (yes) said he wanted to talk to me at some point about offering photographic services for folks on all his tours.
Hmmm, getting paid to take pictures while sailing... THAT would suck. Oh, wait. No it wouldn't. :)
Photographic highlights coming soon.
