No Problem, Mon: Day 5

We had no excursions planned for Jamaica, so we were able to take our time in the morning, get some breakfast, and hit land after the mad rush was done.

Coming into port, it was kind of strange to see land after two days of just water on the horizon, but we adjusted quickly. There was another Carnival ship in port as well, the Valor.

Getting off the ship, we were, of course, accosted by the locals who wanted to get their picture taken with us. Then we went through 'customs' into the big, open warehouse that served as the port terminal.

We all shelled out $15 for the "Hot Spot" shuttle, which took us through some of the craft markets that no one waned to stop at, and then to Margaritaville. Can you say tourist trap folks? I knew that you could. The music was good, and the food was good, and the drinks were good, but they were WAY too expensive.

On the plus side, though, there was a 110 foot water slide down into the ocean, water trampolines and other fun aquatic stuff you could do without waiting a half an hour after you'd eaten. The water was amazingly blue, the sky was dotted with white, fluffy clouds, and there were boats and catamarans everywhere.

As a matter of fact, one of the catamarans pulled right up to Margaritaville, where we noticed that, "Hey! That catamaran is filled with people who aren't wearing any clothes!" Unfortunately, they weren't very sexy. In fact, they were kinda old and droopy. Most of them put on clothes and came to Margaritaville for lunch. A few sat near us, and from them we found out that a Nudist group had chartered the ENTIRE SHIP in port with us for a Naked Cruise. Everyone on the Valor except the crew was nekkid.

With that comforting thought in mind (WHAT DO THEY DO AT DINNER?!?!) we wandered up the strip for a ways, doing some shopping. I bought Stanley a new shirt. Everyone else bought booze. And we wandered aimlessly for a while before heading back shipwards.

As the ship left port, many of the Naked Cruise folks came to their balcony to wave to us, and we waved back, although without as much skin showing.

Then there were naps before dinner, which was as good as always.

Post dinner, another trip to Blues, where the piano player and my family for the week got me to make up another song, then off to the Degas Lounge to watch the "R Rated Gameshow" which was all about sexy questions. If Chris, our host, had been a little more experience actually hosting this kind of stuff, the event probably would have been funnier than ti was.

Bed came none too soon for me, as my lack of sleep filled night was really catching up to me.
