Okay, I bit the bullet...
I'm not done re-reading the book, but I went and saw Fellowship of the Ring tonight with my sister and her husband.
First, primal reactions: Orlando Bloom, Elija Wood, Liv Tyler and Cate Blanchett? YUM! What a pretty pretty cast!!
First, artistic reactions: Muh... it was just lovely. Just just lovely. I thought the intro was a bit... long, but the film on the whole was stupendous. And I wanted to add "Mr. Anderson" to the end of every one of Elrond's lines.
Must go see it more.
