Encompasing Cinema Post

Thursday I traveled up to the city with edgeomatic to see the taping of two episodes of TechTV's Unscrewed. It was alot of fun. Very small audience, very small studio, very cool experience. We'd like to get a larger group together to go up some time, so let me know if you're interested.

Last night, I went with sisterthemoon and we saw Monster. Hallie Barry got the Oscar for Monster's Ball, true enough. However, I think ANYONE in that part would have gotten the Oscar as it was an Oscar Winning Parttm. The part Charlize Theron played in Monster, not so much in terms of a sure thing. Her performance was more along the lines of Hillary Swank's performance in Boys Don't Cry. The movie was very moving, the script well written, but damn, Theron just 0wn3d that part. Christina Ricci did an really good job as well, and as I left the theater, I wondered why she'd been overlooked come Oscar Nod Day, but looking back on it, she didn't have the opportunity to really shine until the end of the film... and she most certainly did. However, the only person worthy of earning an Oscar for eight minutes of shining performance is Dame Judy Dench. :)

Anyway, that's my media sumup. Peace, love and doughnuts to you all.
