Social Media as it relates to Wine.

So... I realized that complacent won't really work with this whole wine thing, because that's not the POINT of the whole wine thing. We're supposed to be leveraging Social Media in our favor, right?

Renee almost catching up to 5th place really put a fire under my ass and made me realize that I can make things happen if I just DO WHAT THE FREAKING JOB WANTS ME TO DO. Be Social.

So I started the Facebook Group with the intent of giving folks something they could send their friends to with info. I started it at like 1 in the morning. When I went to bed, there were 3 members (one of whom was me), and when I got up the next morning there were 50. Talk about an ego boost. :D

Right now, there are 124 members, 9 of whom I don't even know. THAT is freakin awesome, right there. So if you're on the Facebooks, spread the word. And tell me what YOU think I can do to get strangers to sign up and vote for me.

Then I realized that really, I should be treating this (me) as a whole internet marketing campaign. So last night I made this:

Other ideas of marketing options welcome as well. :) I don't know that I've ever had to sell myself as much as I am right now... it's kinda weird! I've actually had one Facebook friend request from someone who saw my video on the MG website, and went looking for me cause they wanted to talk shop. How cool is that?

Anyhoo, current standings:

I'm in 3rd Place with 662 votes
4th Place is at 658 (uh oh!!)
2nd Place is at 987 votes (d'oh!)

Again, thank you ALL for being so awesome and spreading the word.

Inspirational Encroachment...

So when Renee got close to me, I started pushing again. Now Hardy, from Atlanta, who has been sitting at 978 since I first looked at the website is at 1000. It's amazing what friendly competition will inspire. :)

Comin' to getcha, Hardy!
