Fun being a Consular Officer

Sometimes, we get letters from visa applicants that they claim are from companies or friends in the United States. We can often tell they're fake when they appear to be signed by a native English speaker (with a name like Bob Smith or something) but contain weird diction or bad grammar in typically Nepali ways.

This one, however, is a masterpiece. Supposedly written by someone named Sandra Paula, this next quote is supposed to explain why a certain applicant needs to go to the United States for six months.

"With due resepect & honor, it is in referring to our letter dates November 27, 2001 having been to invited Mrs. Bina for emergency basis. We are taking her responsible to state that resident teacher of Palyul at Flushing, NY. Said her cousin Mrs. Bina, a period attendant her from her home at Kathmandu and now she is invited to the United States. It is therefore we take this as an important that we are sending her this invitation for a period of one week as being requested. Any more detail/introdoction required, it is of our pleasure to apply to you with our full supports."

Well. That clears things up, doesn't it?
