Ode to a Duck Named Friend...

You were a weird one.
Why would you want to hump geese?
Your quack will be missed.

There was a pet catastrophy today. The dogs got out into the back, and two ducks paid for it with their lives, one of which was the family duck named Friend.

You can't blame the dogs. Ace is a hunting hound. It's his job. But it is a little sad. So we have them locked up in the small pen for the night until we can secure all the fences better.

In other news... you may have noticed I'm still in Redding! I got the car back today... $2000 worth of repairs, and I still need a new AC condensor so the AC works, a new motor for one of the radiator fans, the driver's side door still needs to be fixed... oy. But hey, she runs really nice now. :) I washed her this afternoon since all the insurance stuff was finally done. 3500 miles of road grime doesn't come off easy... but I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it since she's getting repainted next week anyway. :) Oh, replaced the burnt out headlight, too.

I decided to just stay up here since I promised Nephew K that I'd be there for his first football game, which is at 9AM on Saturday. So rather than drive down tonight and drive back friday night... I'm just crashing.

The father-unit is off from work tomorrow and Friday, so we'll be doing the bonding thing over blueprints, or cars, or something suitably macho, but not overly strenuous. :)

I also spent a little time doing some web stuff for the community theater... they seemed to like it, so it'll probably go live before the end of the month. Then I sat down with my dad and went over the blueprints for the proposed new theater building and made some recommendations that he really liked... can you tell my brain is starved for some work to do?

La la la... forgot what else I was going to write about.

Weird dreams last night... back at Penn State, in the office I worked in, and they were rebuilding stuff. But alot of familliar faces were there and they were all happy to see me.
Then things got weird and I had to escape to Amish country with a friend who was actually an amalgam of several friends of mine from college. So bizarre. So bizarre.

I guess that's pretty much it. Have a good day. Love you all!
