Okay, Dynasty fans, guess where I went yesterday? That's right, in celebration of her last day in America,
I have to admit, the gardens are stunning. Not as serene as Hakone Gardens, but EXTRAORDINAIRLY well tended, and very beautiful. I could totally live there.
The mansion itself was nice, but much smaller than I thought. Granted, the self-guided tour only let you see the ground floor living areas, and I'd be more than happy inhabiting a home that size, but it seemed to be styled much older than it really was. Oh,
The only disappointing part of the day was the "Garden House." They turned it into the gift shop, and unfortunately, it seems that just because there's a flower on the premesis, it's okay to sell anything that claims to be the scent of that flower. So after an hour or so of strolling gardens, to be dumped into a shop filled with cloying artificial scents was a bit abusive to the senses. But hey, you can't have everything, right?
