Parental Visit

Ya know, I gush far too much lately about my folks. Sue me.

Mom and dad came down today to visit. Sort of. Mom had a doctor's appointment at Stanford this afternoon, and Dad was lending me a hand with the Big Project That Was Super Important Thanks For The Love Folks plans. I can't wait till I can call it more than that publically... soon, my precious, soon...

ANYWAY, as a child, I couldn't WAIT to get my parents away from my friends. But these days, it's very different. I love to show them off to my friends, if only so my friends can understand why I am the way I am.

We got to lunch with merlinofchaos today, which was fun. And in pure Klaefamily form, my father read his fortune cookie out loud thusly:

"To understand a man's mind, listen to his words... ... ... Fuckin' A."

We scurried to the afternoon meeting about the Big Project That Was Super Important Thanks For The Love Folks, where in my folks charmed several people, some of whom I've not even met.

Then it was off to mom's doctor's appointment at Stanford. We got there early, so we took a quick tour of the Rodin Sculpture Garden on campus (no, that's RodIn, not RodAn). I now know where I'm going to go blow off the two rolls of black and white film I have. TOTALLY awesome place.

Post doctor's appointment, we swung by the Rosicrutian Museum so I could show my folks the gardens there, and then it was off to the Restaurant for dinner, where everyone I work with got a chance to be charmed by the parental units.

It was a great day, and I'm psyched that they're getting a chance to stay at the Hotel. They head home tomorrow morning, just before I have to be at work.

Fun times. Fun times.
